Use touchscreen as touchpad

Tell what features you'd like to see in future Remote Touch versions ! And yes, this forum does get looked at :) If you see a feature on the request list that you like, say you like it too (so I know how popular it is).

Use touchscreen as touchpad

Postby foo » Sat May 16, 2009 8:30 am

First of all: This application is great, but I'd like to have a special feature in situations when I sit just right in front of my PC*. In this case I do not need a mirror of the screen on my mobile phone, because I can look directly to the monitor instead. But what I would need in this case is a the touchscreen to work as a touch pad like of a laptop.
This means that the right and the bottom border of the touchscreen can be mapped to a scroll function and the other area just to control the mouse. This would make the mobile phone to a very handy keyboard & touchscreen unit.

*) You may ask why I don't use the PC's keyboard and mouse instead... Sometimes I sit with my little baby boy at the PC and it's difficult to use a fullsize keyboard with him sleeping in my arms. But If I had a very small device in my hands then I could easily control a web browser and read some news, etc... :)

I think the feature you want already exists in version 2.0.
It comes with a full screen keyboard and there is a touch pad mode as well. (You need to bring up the OSD in keyboard mode to change between different keyboards/ touch pad).

If you want to make a keyboard that suits your needs (i.e only browsing).
Then you can make one with the Remote Touch Keyboard Maker.
I've posted a video on how to do this.
